Building Sustainable Neighborhoods for Today's Housing Market

Picture
MAC has published a DVD and hard copy handbook to educate and inform developers about the advantages and challenges involved in building cohousing communities that are green and sustainable. Groups or individuals looking for a developer will also find this a useful tool for learning about the development process. Both are packed with detailed information about developing cohousing.

The DVD showcases three developers:
  • Don Tucker of Eco Housing Corporation, Bethesda, MD
  • Jim Leach of Wonderland Hill Development Company, Boulder, CO
  • Kathryn McCamant of CoHousing Partners, Nevada City, CA
The developers explain in detail their experiences in bringing cohousing to market. An invaluable resource for groups wishing to partner with a developer, the DVD covers financing, budgeting, marketing, sales, and the role green building plays in cohousing. The handbook contains even more detailed information that supports the interviews in the DVD (See trailer and photos below).

The handbook has been updated and reformatted. Building Sustainable Neighborhoods for Today’s Housing Market provides readers with detailed information on how three of the country’s most successful cohousing developers promote, organize and create their communities.

The DVD and Handbook set costs $25 + $5  shipping by US priority mail.
(Shipping for foreign addresses will be calculated on a case by case basis.)
